Welcome to Allorey

Allorey is a worldbuilding project and series of comics. Set in the distant Rey solar system, which legend says was created by the serpent in its star.

While many formations surround its star, most of Allorey regards Ternual, an earth-like planet abundant in life.

You can view its life in the Bestiary, or view the planet’s various locations on the World Map.

Allorey draws influences from both fantasy and sci-fi settings, and aims to be immersive with its attention to detail, grounded viewpoint, and basis in scientific concepts, without limiting itself to realism and reality as we know it.
You can read all about the worldbuilding and lore in the Codex!

Ternual is home to the Valcari, a sapient species altered by a force known as energy, allowing them to manipulate reality and fly. The Comics focus on various Valkyries and their complex societies, relationships, and journeys.

Allorey is a constant work in progress, made by one person.

Explorer’s Guide

To get the most out of your visit, take a moment to learn about some conventions and features of this site!

Conventions

  • In-universe terms have underlined tooltips on their first mention, and can be tapped to show more info.
  • Words from in-universe languages are italicised, so you know they aren’t real terms. Anglicised words like place names aren’t italicised, to differentiate their meaning. For example, Calabern comes from Calo Bernu, archaic for ‘fire bowl’.
  • Links you can click to go to different place are golden. Sometimes other colours will be used, but generally will not be links.
Features
  • In the top right corner you will find a menu for accessibility tools if you need them.
  • Sometimes more information will be given via1 a numbered link2. Click one, no need to worry about scrolling back up!
  • This site has interactable images! Usually in the form of maps, you can zoom, pan, and tap parts of them to highlight areas, visit pages, or recieve extra information.

Not sure what that means? Try this one out!

If you find yourself unable to scroll, you may be scrolling an interactable image. Scroll while not touching the image instead if this happens.

Don’t worry if you can’t get them to work, or they won’t load. All links on them will also be on the page, so you only miss out on visual information.
